Piombino is a municipality of 34.369 inhabitants in the province of Livorno. The city rises upon the homonymous promontory and is separated from the island of Elba by the Piombino Channel. Piombino is part of the Etruscan coast. On top of the promontory is the Bovio square, from which you can enjoy the sight of the entire archipelago as well as of Corsica. The island’s lighthouse also stands on this
square. From Piombino's harbor you can easily reach the island of Elba by ferry. |
